Don’t Bring Contained Meat Product Snack from the Airplane, Otherwise You Might Get Fine in Taiwan

However, even have been very careful and not bringing meat-containing products to Taiwan, sometimes the passengers also could be careless because you forget while transiting in a certain area or when you are too tired, you are not realize that the snacks from the airplane might be including in the banned products. This is happen to the foreign expatriate recently.

An Indonesian citizen who visited her hometown just returned back to Taiwan. Because some factors, she chose to transit in Hong Kong, a region that received a red code (Red Alert) from the Taiwan government. Because of a long hours flight, the passenger was quite tired, therefore she fallen asleep during the flight from Hong Kong to Taiwan. The airline certainly provided complementary food in the form of snack bag, which was not realized by passenger, was contained meat product.

Because the flight hours are quite short, some passengers do not eat the snacks given and choose to take them. Although there had been an announcement via loudspeakers not to carry products containing meat, some passengers, including the Indonesian citizen, did not realize that they brought contains meat food product from the plane.

After getting off from the plane, all passenger cabin baggage must be checked through a scanner, especially from the infected or red code areas. As additional information, those who came from the countries or areas that are not infected will get a special certificate so that the inspection is not as strict as that coming from the red code area. However, the dogs still be deployed to check luggage for security.

Meanwhile, those who came from the infected areas must follow stricter security procedures, including this expatriate since she transited in Hong Kong. Her luggage was inspected by the customs and immigration officers then questioned whether she was bringing a pie from the plane, because that pie contains meat. The foreign passenger realized the pie that she brought was not only contained scrambled egg, but also contained meat. She cooperated with the officer and gave the item. The officer noted and warned her, fortunately the passenger also realized her mistake and promised not to repeat it. The officer also records flight data as a reference.

Some other passengers also experienced the same thing, were not realizing that the snack from the plane contained meat and brought it down. This is quite dangerous and often happens, especially if the passenger is not aware about it.

As a passenger, you have to be careful, don't miss it or forget and bring the contain meat food from the plane. It will be better if you finish your snack or meal at the plane and do not take any food that might contain meat off from the plane.
