Hualien New Residents Association Visits Ji’an Township Chief: Discussing Future Development and Friendship

At the beginning of 2025, Wen Jian-Wei, the newly appointed chairman of the Hualien County New Residents Cultural Development Exchange Association, led Honorary Chairwoman Li Yi-Chen and nearly 20 board members to visit the Ji’an Township Office. They met with Mayor You Shu-Zhen to express their gratitude and support on behalf of the new resident sisters. The association also invited Mayor You to join the "Returning Home Together" event on the sixth day of the Lunar New Year to strengthen the long-standing mutual care and bond.

Mayor, You shared her journey of moving from Taitung to Hualien to work hard, resonating with the struggles of new resident sisters who have left their hometowns. Wen Jian-Wei highlighted that since its founding over nine years ago, the association has received unwavering support from Mayor You, from organizing Lunar New Year gatherings to conducting various training programs. Her involvement and care have deeply touched the hearts of the sisters. The visit expressed gratitude and outlined future development plans, beginning with the "Returning Home Together" event to unite the diverse cultural strengths of sisters. The association aims to introduce new skills and expertise to promote family harmony and social integration.

Honorary Chairwoman Li Yi-Chen thanked Mayor You for her long-standing support of new residents, encouraging their learning and providing tangible resources. She announced that in 2025, the association would implement a multi-faceted learning program for new residents, with the township office pledging to provide subsidies and resource support to help the sisters establish themselves in Hualien. Together, they aim to create a happy vision of "Love Knows No Borders—Hualien Is Our Home."

The New Residents Association will continue to promote empowerment activities and cultural exchanges, offering learning and development platforms for new residents to foster a harmonious and inclusive society.
