Tian Wei Ping mentioned that she grew up in a family that reflects a preference for boys. Therefore, she has been determined to treat her children fairly since she was 12 years old.

After getting married, the couple decided to reside in Taiwan. Tian Wei Ping chose to be a full-time mother and only started pursuing her dream when she reached 45 years old. As a mother who attaches great importance to strategies for educating children, she would inculcate important values into her children by teaching them how to think critically, make their own choices, and accomplish tasks on their own.

Besides, Tian also mentioned that parents must spare the time to communicate with their children a lot, and let the children make their own decisions. When the child faces failure, the parents must stay as company. However, it is not recommended to be too protective towards their children, preventing them from feeling frustrated easily.

She said, "I often create chances for my children to fail." After all, "life is just like this, it's not always perfect." What is more important is having the courage to face failures and the ability to solve problems.
