Starting on August 15th, Taipei City will triple the fee for unlawful waste disposal and raise the penalties in order to maintain the city clean and orderly. Six environmental contamination practices will also result in increased penalties at the same time. The Department of Environmental Protection Bureau advises people to keep their surroundings clean and not to violate the laws for their convenience.

According to the Department of Environmental Protection, Taipei City Government, violations of the "Waste Disposal Act" might result in fines ranging from NT$1,200 to NT$6,000 for strewn-about waste bag disposal, littering of cigarette butts, unlawful ads, and other polluting practices.

According to the Department of Environmental Protection, Taipei City has been using special garbage bags for years. According to rules, general trash should be placed in specific bags and sent to the cleaning crew. However, some people continue to haphazardly dump their domestic trash in random locations across the city out of convenience, which pollutes the environment. Therefore, starting on August 15th, the punishment for carelessly throwing waste bags will increase from NT$1,200 to NT$3,600, and the general people should be warned not to discard garbage at whim. This is done in order to strengthen the level of law enforcement.

Additionally, six significant environmental pollution habits will all be concurrently intensified their penalties, including littering, unlawful advertising, unclean dogs defecating in public, spitting betel nut juice, and discarding cigarette butts.
