The population of migrant workers in Taiwan has reached 700,000, and they have become the main labor force in all levels of domestic industries. To make it easier and faster for migrant workers to send money to their home countries, Taishin Bank (台新銀行) announced the launch of the "ATM overseas remittance collection service” (ATM跨境匯款待收服務) which is available in 7 languages.

Due to working hours constraints and language barriers, it is not convenient for migrant workers to go to the bank for remittance transactions during banking hours. They often send remittances through underground foreign exchanges, where there is the possibility of being charged higher remittance fees and lower exchange rates. In addition, there is also the risk of uncertainty in the schedule and the amount to be received.

Because of this, Taishin Bank developed and launched the first domestic "ATM overseas remittance collection service" in cooperation with new entrepreneurs. Through Taishin ATM machines, which supports 7 languages, including the home language of migrant workers "English, Indonesian, Thai, Vietnamese... etc.”, and with the advanced operating interface, we provide migrant workers with overseas remittance collection services without time constraints.

Taishin Bank said that the migrant workers in Taiwan can use the QR code produced by the new entrepreneur’s app that has legally obtained business licenses.  They may scan the QR code at the ATM of Taishin Bank, and then they can easily use this legal and safe channel to quickly remit money to relatives and friends in their home country, and complete overseas remittance transactions with peace of mind.

In conjunction with current epidemic prevention measures, which is the most important issue for everyone, the development of various systems for this overseas remittance collection service is particularly given priority. The purpose is to meet the needs of foreign migrant workers for overseas remittances through 24-hour automated services.
