According to [CNN Philippines], a magnitude-5.0 earthquake jolted Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro early Wednesday, state seismologists said.
In a bulletin, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the quake occurred at 12:43 a.m. and aftershocks are expected.
It was initially reported that the earthquake was magnitude 5.
Meanwhile, damage to structures is not unlikely.
Intensity IV, or moderately strong shaking, was felt in Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro
Intensity III, characterized by weak vibrations, was felt in Tagaytay City.
Intensity II, or slightly felt vibrations, occurred in Muntinlupa City; Batangas City and Calatagan, Batangas; and Mauban, Mulanay, and Dolores in Quezon.
Intensity I, or scarcely perceptible shaking was felt in Lopez, Quezon; Carmona, Cavite; and Plaridel in Bulacan

Phivolcs also reported intensities felt in other areas:
Intensity IV- Mamburao, Abra de Ilog and Paluan in Occidental Mindoro and Puerto Galera in Oriental Mindoro
Intesity III - Mabini, Malvar and Tingloy in Batangas
Intensity II - Bauan in Batangas, Tagaytay City and Quezon City
Intensity I - Talisay, Batangas
According to [CNN Philippines], Phivolcs said the quake is tectonic in origin, which means there was a movement in the Earth's crust, and that it had a depth of 25 kilometers.
