CECC: Vaccine regulations for migrant workers and local Taiwanese are the same

Migrant workers take up a large portion of the Taiwan population. Many of these workers are from Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. Recently, there was an announcement to vaccinate migrant workers as soon as possible. Locals and migrant workers have equal vaccination rights and regulations.

Chen Shih-chung (陳時中) commander of the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC), said there is no special plan for migrant workers. There is no difference between migrant workers and locals, however, some migrant workers might be prioritized according to which industries they are employed in.

Chen Shih-chung also emphasized that migrant workers will not be deprived of their rights. Epidemic prevention standards and consistent across Taiwan to ensure just treatment.
