[Taiwan Immigrants’ Global News Network] The 2022 Lunar New Year has a total of nine days of holidays, which is suitable for the whole family to visit temples and pray for blessings. Many temples in Taiwan are full of incense. This article sorts out five temples in Taipei City, and invites new residents to go there to experience the temple culture in Taiwan.

1. Taipei Tianhou Temple

Built in 1764, together with Mengka Longshan Temple and Mengka Patriarch Temple, it is also known as the "Three Great Temple Gates of Mengka". The Gods enshrined include Mazu, the patron saint of Taiwan's ocean (also known as the Holy Mother of Heaven), Avalokitesvara Buddha, Guan Shengdi Jun, etc., mainly praying for peace. 2. Mengka Longshan Temple

Built in 1738 AD, it has always been the faith center of nearby residents. 3. Dalongdong Baoan Temple

Built in 1805, it took 25 years to complete due to the huge project. After silence and transformation, it was awarded the Outstanding Temple Award and promoted Taoist exchanges within Taiwan. It is most famous for the "Baosheng Cultural Festival". The gods enshrined include Empress Zhushen, Emperor Shennong, etc., mainly praying for good health and children's safety. 4. Taipei Guandu Palace

Built in 1712, it is not only one of the oldest temples in Taiwan, but also the most splendid temple in northern Taiwan. The gods enshrined include the Holy Mother of Heaven, the Jade Emperor God, the Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, the Medicine Buddha group, etc., mainly praying for good luck and wealth. 5. Taipei Xiahai City God Temple

Built in 1859, it is a National Grade 3 Historic Site. It has witnessed the rise and fall of Dadaocheng over the past century. The gods enshrined include Xiahai City God, civil and military judges, Qi Ye and Ba Ye, etc., mainly praying for peace, success and love and marriage.
