Today is the last day for registering the “Talent Recruitment & Training Course for Immigrant Interpreter” organized by Taoyuan City Government. Those who are interested, please sign up soon.

To minimize misunderstandings resulting from language barriers and help immigrants to adapt to local life, the Department of Social Welfare of Taoyuan is recruiting immigrant interpreters and provides training courses for them.

Eligibility includes people who are 20 years old and above and can demonstrate bilingual proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, or writing. After completing the course, passing the oral examination, and finishing a 3-hour workplace training, individuals will get an interpreter qualification certificate.

The training course will be 3 days in total and will be conducted on the 3rd floor of Taoyuan New Immigrants Culture Hall (新住民文化會館) from March 9 to 11. After passing all the requirements, the interpreter’s information will be added to the database of the Ministry of the Interior National Immigration Agency.

It is hoped that through the course provided, interpreters will be able to help those in need by demonstrating a high level of proficiency in mother languages.
