The Society of Wilderness promotes “Parent and Child Energy Saving Picture Books”

 Many summer activities have been canceled due to the COVID-19 epidemic. For the children to have activities at home to participate in, the Bureau of Energy (能源局 BOE), the Industrial Technology Research Institute (工業技術研究院 ITRI), and the Society of Wilderness (荒野保護協會 SOW) jointly organized the “Energy-Saving Storytelling Car, and the Parent and Child Online Summer Reads” activities. These are launched online every Wednesday and Saturday from July 7th to August 28th. The energy-saving storytelling car guide "Sister Ling Tang" will tell stories and read picture books with children, to promote the idea of caring for the earth.

The contents of the picture book are about the environment, nature, energy saving and carbon reduction and is suitable as parent and child reading material. The host of the event is "Sister Ling Tang" who has many years of story-telling experience. She will read picture books together with the children and introduce simple and easy energy-saving techniques.

This activity is held in July and in August every Wednesday from 12:30 to 13:30 and every Saturday from 11:00 to 12:00, two times a week, a total of 16 episodes. It will be broadcast live on the Society of Wilderness’s YouTube Channel. Aside from watching picture books and listening to stories, the kids can also interact with "Sister Ling Dang" online, whether on their computer, tablet, or mobile phone.

The SOW said that this energy-saving storytelling car event helps to promote epidemic prevention at home and reminds the importance of saving energy. For more details, please check the official website the Society of Wilderness or the Storytelling Car activity website.
