Singapore government plans to promote “quarantine-free travel” from September for people who have completed 2 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine

 The Singapore government recently announced, starting September 2021, it plans to promote quarantine-free travel for people who have been fully vaccinated with the Covid-19 vaccine. Singapore is also assessing whether to loosen the epidemic control measures in early August, and said that by early August, two-thirds of the population will have been fully vaccinated; by September, 80% of the population will have been vaccinated against Covid-19.

According to a report by Reuters (路透社), more than half of Singapore’s population have been vaccinated with two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, including vaccines developed by the US pharmaceutical company Pfizer (輝瑞) and the German BioNTech (德國生技公司), or the US biotech company Moderna (莫德納). Lawrence Wong (黃循財), Minister of Finance of Singapore (新加坡財政部長), stated that Singapore will establish a "tourism corridor" (旅遊走廊) with countries or regions where the Covid-19 epidemic is under control. People who have been vaccinated do not need to be quarantined or they may be allowed to do home quarantine. By that time, this deregulation will be extended only to people who have been vaccinated, because they are better protected from the virus. In addition, Singapore will not remove all social distancing regulations. It may remove the requirement to wear masks outdoors, but it will still require people to wear masks in indoor and enclosed environments.
