The New Taipei City Government, in collaboration with the Taiwan Toy Library Association and TOYOTA Hotai Motor, is hosting the "Share the Love with Toys – Toy Resurrection Festival." Now in its 10th year, the festival will tour 15 locations across Taiwan. The first event kicked off today (3rd) at the flagship New Taipei Toy Bank “Play Together Nest,” with Mayor Hou You-yi attending and joining families to promote sustainability education through secondhand toy reuse.

Mayor Hou expressed his gratitude to the association and corporate partners for their long-term support of child development and sustainable action. New Taipei continues to promote the reuse of secondhand toys through the Toy Bank, spreading the values of “cherishing, sharing, recycling, and inclusion,” while aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with the hope of planting the seeds of sustainability from a young age and extending them throughout Taiwan.Give secondhand toys a new sustainable life—let’s work together for the sustainable development of our planet. According to the Social Affairs Department, since its establishment in 2016, the New Taipei Toy Bank has recycled a total of 237 metric tons of secondhand toys by the end of March 2025—equivalent to the annual carbon absorption of 30,000 trees. In partnership with the Taiwan Toy Library Association and TOYOTA, toy recycling boxes have been set up in service centers nationwide to make recycling more convenient. After being sorted, cleaned, and categorized by volunteers, over 470,000 toys have been regenerated and delivered to 1,176 service sites across Taiwan and abroad, including public childcare centers and community care points, bringing joy to more children.

The “Toy Resurrection Festival” events will continue through the end of June, featuring sustainability education combined with parent-child activities. These include the “Toy Journey” game station, recycling boxes set up in partnership with 33 public childcare centers in New Taipei, and dart games that teach families how to donate and sort toys properly—blending fun and learning.
