The Hsinchu County Government's Department of Education has entered the fourth year of its Youth Empowerment and Volunteer Service Program, attracting more than 4,000 young participants to date. This summer, three volunteer camps have been arranged, with the first "International English Support Camp" recently launched at Fengtian Elementary School in Zhubei City. Youth volunteers accompanied elementary school students in immersive English learning while strengthening civic engagement and volunteer spirit.

Using a "Big Hands Helping Little Hands" approach, the camp featured interactive English activities covering overseas campus life, cultures of English-speaking countries, daily communication scenarios, and spoken English practice. Students also took part in a simulated overseas study challenge, learning how to communicate and respond to unexpected situations in English while expanding their global perspectives.

Hsinchu County Deputy Magistrate Chen Chien-hsien said the youth volunteer camps have become one of the county's signature summer programs. Through volunteer service and hands-on learning, young people gain valuable experience in planning activities, teamwork, and leadership, while elementary students improve their English skills and confidence.

The Department of Education noted that two additional camps—an Ecological Exploration Service Camp and a Community Revitalization Camp—will be held later this summer, encouraging young people aged 15 to 45 to participate in public service and strengthen their connection with local communities.
