Where to go under the blue sky and white clouds in summer? Yushan National Park offers various nature, culture, and ecology activities in Dongpu during holidays to allow visitors to appreciate the park&rsquos rich indigenous culture and ecological diversity. Activities include a series of ecological lectures and guided tours in Dongpu. Families and friends are welcome to join and deeply experience the natural beauty and cultural richness of Dongpu in Yushan National Park.
Dongpu, located in Xinyi Township, Nantou County, sits at about 1,200 meters above sea level, offering pleasant summer weather and making it a perfect destination for flower viewing, travel, and summer retreats. After passing through Dongpu Hot Spring Scenic Area and crossing Rainbow Creek, visitors reach the first neighborhood of Dongpu Village, which lies within Yushan National Park. This area serves as the second entrance to climb Yushan from the park&rsquos northwest zone. Dongpu preserves Bunun traditional culture, Qing Dynasty Batongguan Trail, Japanese-era Batongguan Traversing Trail, and is rich in birdlife and plant and animal resources.

To help tourists better understand that Dongpu is not only famous for hot springs and the Bunun indigenous community, the Yushan National Park Headquarters, in cooperation with Tilun Hotel since 2023, has promoted the Dongpu series of ecological lectures and guided tours. Led by the park&rsquos volunteers, visitors can gain deeper knowledge of Dongpu&rsquos natural and cultural resources, experience Bunun tribal culture, feel the simple passion of local farmers, and explore attractions such as Yunlong Waterfall. Everyone is invited to enjoy the beauty of Dongpu!
Event dates: 5/30, 5/31, 6/1, 6/21, 6/22, 7/5, 7/6, 7/19, 7/20.
No pre-registration is required. Feel free to join by arriving at the gathering location during event time. Please refer to the image for details. Participants who attend the full ecological lecture will receive a beautiful "Beauty of Yushan Postcard" as a souvenir.
