The Geotechnical Engineering Office (GEO) of Taipei City has planned a series of flower festivals and outdoor activities for 2025. These events will combine natural landscapes with cultural features and aim to immerse residents and tourists in vibrant floral displays and diverse activities throughout the year.

In the Zhinan Scenic Area, over 400 cherry trees have been planted recently, with blooms expected to peak from late February to early March, lasting approximately three weeks. The mountain forests will transform into a pink paradise. The GEO has created the "Blessing Trail", connecting seven symbolic themes: Welcome, Purification, Bonding, Healing, Wishing, Fulfillment, and Gratitude — providing a hiking route that blends spiritual healing with natural beauty. Visitors can enjoy a peaceful stroll among the cherry blossoms or take the Maokong Gondola for a breathtaking aerial view of the blooming landscape.Zhinan Scenic Area - Cherry Blossoms (Image / Source: Taipei City Government Website)

Starting in March, the Zhuzihu Calla Lily Fields enter their prime viewing season. This area accounts for over 80% of Taiwan's calla lily production, with the best viewing period from March to April. The calla lily season is followed by the Hydrangea Festival, where the dreamy blend of blue and purple blooms alongside terraced fields creates an enchanting landscape ideal for flower viewing and picnics.

In May, the Neishuangxi Nature Center will host the Love Flower Festival, an event combining environmental conservation with floral appreciation. Pre-registration is required. That same month, GEO will organize family-friendly activities at Elephant Mountain, inviting families to join in the festivities. Additionally, the Camphor Tree Trail will welcome its first flower season in May, followed by blooming cycles in September and February during the Lunar New Year, featuring lupine flower fields.Neishuangxi Nature Center - Agapanthus (Love Flower) (Image / Source: Taipei City Government Website)

The Camphor Tree Trail is a gentle hiking route featuring rural landmarks such as ox carts, water wheels, pavilions, terraced fields, and a rotating grain silo. The trail can be combined with nearby attractions like the Hulu Suspension Bridge, the Zhinan Temple Blessing Trail, and the Bamboo and Cypress Path, making it perfect for a relaxing tea culture day trip.

During autumn, the Qixing Mountain Silvergrass Fields become a popular destination for hiking and photography enthusiasts. From October to November, the silver-white grasses create a mesmerizing sight, swaying in the breeze and providing an ideal backdrop for social media posts. The cool autumn climate also makes it an excellent time to challenge the Taipei Grand Trail.

For an unforgettable New Year's Eve, Elephant Mountain offers one of the best viewpoints for the iconic Taipei 101 fireworks display. Along the trail, several observation decks provide fantastic panoramic views of Taipei’s nightscape. The Bishan Camping Ground also offers a limited number of spots for firework viewing, available through a lottery system.

In 2025, Taipei’s floral festivals and outdoor activities will offer a rich blend of natural beauty and cultural experiences. Whether enjoying cherry blossoms, exploring flower fields, hiking scenic trails, or joining the New Year’s Eve countdown, visitors and residents alike will be immersed in stunning scenery year-round.
