More than 7,000 motorcycle shops across Taiwan have joined the Motorcycle Safety Station program, offering four free checks covering tires, lights, brakes and lubricating oil. The service allows riders to check vehicle safety before problems occur.

People interested in a check can visit the Directorate General of Highways website to find Motorcycle Safety Station locations in each county and city, then choose a participating shop. Some shops also offer gifts with purchases or discounts on parts, with details subject to each shop's announcements.

The program is jointly promoted by the Ministry of Transportation and Communications and major motorcycle businesses in Taiwan, focusing on both rider and vehicle safety. A QR code for the 2026 edition of the Defensive Riding Manual is also available for online viewing or download.

The Road Safety Month campaign also features a lottery for frequent motorcycle riders with no traffic violations. More than 800 prizes worth over NT$2 million are available, including a top prize of a large motorcycle worth nearly NT$280,000, as well as electric motorcycles, smart wearable devices and gift vouchers. Eligible participants can register through the Motor Vehicle Driver and Vehicle Information Service APP or a campaign link on the Directorate General of Highways website.

Free motorcycle safety checks are available through December. Locations and campaign details can be found on the Directorate General of Highways website. Actual inspection items and services vary by participating shop and are subject to announcements by the organizers and individual shops.
