According to The Star, according to a new survey, niche tourist experiences such as adventure and gastronomical vacations are projected to expand as a result of "Generation Hashtag" travelers.
Generation Hashtag (defined as those born between 1991 and 2005) will be a main driver for the experience economy in travel, according to GlobalData's Niche Tourism, 2022 Update thematic report.

"Generation Hashtag is a driving force behind the experience economy, which is described as a market in which goods and services are offered based on their personal impact on people's lives.

"As a result, it's closely associated with niche tourism due to the wide selection of individualized trips and experiences that can be provided," said Craig Bradley, a GlobalData associate tourism analyst.
Respondents were asked how much a product or service adapted to their needs influences their purchase decision in GlobalData's Q1 2021 Global Consumer Survey.
According to the survey, 27 percent of Gen Z and 26 percent of millennials said it "always influences my product choice," the largest percentages of any age group surveyed and 3 percent higher than the global average.

In the meantime, a survey of young individuals revealed a growing demand for specialist trip kinds. Ecotourism, multi-stop travels, religious, cruise, LGBTQ, and wellness vacations are all examples of specialized trip kinds.
Generation Hashtag's preferences are assisting in the advancement of several types of specialized tourism.
