ChatGPT answers are not always correct. Forty-seven Taipei City schools have introduced generative AI and net-zero education, teaching students to compare sources, analyze electricity use, design energy-saving devices and reduce disposable products.

At Datun Elementary School, students use extreme weather as a topic to learn a 4-step verification method. They trace the sources of ChatGPT answers, cross-check the claims, assess their reliability and compare them with authoritative information from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

Net-zero learning also becomes practical action. Jiuzhuang Elementary School students examine campus energy use and build energy-saving devices with microcontrollers. Nanmen Junior High School students investigate electricity consumption, reduce disposable paper containers and bring low-carbon habits home.

At Fanghe Experimental High School, students analyze real-time data from solar power and energy management systems, then discuss adjustments to lighting and air conditioning. These lessons connect AI verification, data literacy and environmental action.

The "Campus Net-Zero Emissions New Lifestyle Implementation Plan" covers school governance, carbon management, curriculum and student competencies. It will expand in the 2026 academic year through expert guidance, teacher training and funding, helping more students understand climate issues through everyday action.
