According to Bohol legislators vow to be ethical leaders | Inquirer News, during a three-day general assembly that began on Thursday in Panglao, at least 100 young Bohol lawmakers vowed to fight for moral leadership and responsible government.

The "Action Agenda 2023: Young Legislators for a Progressive Bohol" that the Bohol chapter of the National Movement of Young Legislators (NMYL) adopted underlines its slogan to lead with mind and serve with heart.

Like the other leagues, the NYML can be heard by its output at this general assembly, demonstrating that it is not just for socializing but that it has a true voice when it comes to matters that directly impact our citizens and our province of Bohol. NMYL-Bohol chairperson Jamie Aumentado Villamor, a board member, stated.

Vice governors, vice mayors, provincial board members, city and municipal councilors, and presidents and chairs of the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation are all members of the NMYL, a group of elected politicians who are 40 years of age or younger.

Aumentado said it further underlines the dedication of young Boholano leaders to serve as the change's catalyst and agents of good leadership and governance.

They seek to express their views and take positions on topics that would ensure the general welfare of the Boholanos by actively and collectively participating in local, national, and parliamentary policy dialogue and legislative procedures.

Through the creation of legislation that promotes economic independence, disaster and climate risk reduction, and cultural preservation, they want to help Boholanos create a more resilient and sustainable future.
