Following last August's hit exhibition "Van Gogh: The Journey to Light," Fubon Art Museum returns this summer with another major international show: "Impressionism: From Monet to America &ndash Light Across the Ocean," in collaboration with the historic Worcester Art Museum in the U.S. The exhibition brings together iconic Impressionist masterpieces from Europe and America, featuring works by 38 artists and 52 original paintings. Notably, Claude Monet's representative work Water Lilies (1908) will be exhibited in Taiwan for the first time, promising a feast of visual art and history.

Highlight 1: First Major Exhibition of American Impressionism in Taiwan
Marking the 150th anniversary of the term "Impressionism," this exhibition reflects on the profound influence of a small group of Parisian artists. They pioneered a new painting style that emphasized plein air painting over studio work, capturing fleeting natural scenes, everyday life, and ephemeral moments instead of grand narratives and static compositions.

Highlight 2: Nearly 40 Artists and 52 Original Paintings
The exhibition showcases works by Claude Monet (1840&ndash1926), Pierre-Auguste Renoir (1841&ndash1919), Camille Pissarro (1830&ndash1903), Mary Cassatt (1844&ndash1926), Childe Hassam (1856&ndash1935), and Max Slevogt (1868&ndash1932), among others. Themes range from Monet's iconic Giverny water lily pond to the Grand Canyon in the U.S., demonstrating the stylistic evolution and geographical spread of Impressionism.Claude Monet, Impression. Highlight 3: Monet's Iconic Water Lilies Debuts in Taiwan
A defining piece from Monet's later years, Water Lilies captures the poetic interplay of natural light and the passage of time, inspired by the water lily pond in his Giverny garden. This masterpiece, on display in Taiwan for the first time, represents the culmination of Monet's lifelong artistic pursuit.

Highlight 4: Four Major Works by Childe Hassam
Known as the "American Monet," Childe Hassam brought Impressionism from Paris to New York, portraying American cityscapes imbued with light, poetry, and freedom. This exhibition features four of his key works across periods and styles: Rainy Day, Columbus Avenue, Gathering Flowers in a French Garden, Sulphur Rocks, Appledore, and The Breakfast Room, Winter Morning, New York.

Highlight 5: Thematic Galleries from France to America
The show not only presents Impressionist artworks but also guides visitors through nearly a century of development. Themed sections trace the movement's origins in late 19th-century France, showing how artists like Monet broke free from academic traditions. It then follows the movement&rsquos spread across Europe and its transformation into a uniquely American Impressionism.Childe Hassam, Gathering Flowers in a French Garden Oil on canvas, 71.1 × 55.1 cm, 1888 (Image/courtesy of Toco Life Magazine)Childe Hassam, Gathering Flowers in a French Garden Oil on canvas, 71.1 × 55.1 cm, 1888 (Image/courtesy of Toco Life Magazine)
