The well-received Sunshine Island Vibe Fest will return to Kaohsiung from March 6 to 8, 2026. The Kaohsiung City Government announced that following its debut edition, which attracted more than 140,000 visits, the festival will be fully upgraded this year with an expanded scale and a dual-venue format held simultaneously at Central Park and Kaohsiung Main Station, highlighting the city’s diverse and open international character.

According to the city government, the festival once again brings together representative offices from the United States, Japan, the Philippines, and Thailand in Kaohsiung. By integrating island culture, music, markets, and cultural exchange activities, the event invites local residents, new immigrants, and migrant workers to participate and experience cross-cultural interaction in public urban spaces. Mayor Chen Chi-mai stated that as a harbor city, Kaohsiung has long maintained close ties with various countries in trade, education, and culture, and the festival serves as an important platform connecting these relationships.

Organizers noted that the 2026 edition will feature international brands, market booths, and stage performances, while incorporating cultural elements from new immigrant and migrant worker communities to deepen people-to-people exchanges. The city government will also coordinate resources across departments, including education, social welfare, and labor, to continue shaping Kaohsiung into a welcoming and warm international city.
