Taoyuan is expanding family support measures in stages. From August, spouses will also be eligible to use the Pregnancy Support Card, while subsidies for quasi-public childcare will increase. Earlier this month, the city also broadened eligibility for egg freezing subsidies to further ease the financial burden on families.

Since July 1, the egg freezing subsidy has been extended beyond women under 25 with cancer to include six additional medical conditions, such as autoimmune, ovarian and blood disorders, helping patients preserve future fertility before treatment.

Starting August 1, the Pregnancy Support Card will be available to registered spouses as well as pregnant women, making it more convenient for families to share responsibilities such as children's medical visits and vaccinations.

Monthly out-of-pocket fees for families using quasi-public childcare centers will also be reduced. Average costs for first-child enrollment will fall to NT$3,500 per month, second-child expenses will also decrease, while the third child will continue to receive full subsidies.

In addition to these measures, Taoyuan has introduced self-paid vaccine subsidies for pregnant women and established Taiwan's first maternity care center, providing integrated healthcare, counseling and support from pregnancy planning through child-rearing.
