To implement Article 17 of the Basic Law for New Residents, which guarantees media access rights for new residents, the government encourages media to produce programs in new resident languages and cultures, offering rewards and subsidies. The Ministry of the Interior will hold the "New Resident Children’s Multicultural Training Camp" from July 14 to 16, 2025. The camp aims to enhance new resident children's cultural literacy and professional skills through media literacy and digital application courses, fostering multicultural development.

Event Information and Eligibility

This three-day, two-night training camp is tentatively scheduled at the Jiantan Overseas Youth Activity Center in Taipei. It will recruit 50 participants, including 40 new resident children and 10 local children. Applicants must be students enrolled in high school or above in Taiwan. Those who have previously attended domestic training camps for new resident children are not eligible to apply.Event Information and Enrollment Target (Photo / Screenshot from Immigration Agency Website)

Course Plan and Competition Mechanism

The camp will focus on media experience and multicultural development, offering media literacy and digital media courses. Participants will visit media institutions and produce creative Podcast programs, using sound to convey new resident cultures and personal identities. Course results will be presented at the final presentation, and a competition will be held, where the top three groups will receive a NT$6,000 gift voucher.

This initiative encourages new resident families to leverage their language advantages, strengthen mother tongue inheritance, and promote awareness of new resident children’s education. It seeks to create a diverse and inclusive society, enhancing national competitiveness.
