Since 2017, the Ministry of Education has been promoting the School-Community Shared Reading Station Program. As of 2024, subsidies have been provided to 851 elementary and junior high schools to establish shared reading stations. By enhancing infrastructure and fostering a positive reading atmosphere, these stations allow community residents to share school library resources, extending reading culture into the community and enhancing national literacy.
Qishan Elementary School in Kaohsiung designed its reading station with the concept of a "Magical Library." The space incorporates local architectural elements and colors while adding magical themes, creating an environment reminiscent of a wizarding academy. The collection includes illustrated books and publications related to Qishan&rsquos history, guiding readers to explore local culture. The school also utilizes the reading station for community learning activities, such as local reading events, author discussions, and intergenerational reading programs, enriching the community&rsquos reading resources.
Shuangwen Elementary School in Nantou drew inspiration from local industries, longan and honey, for its design. Elderly residents are invited to share local history and culture. The entrance adopts a honeycomb design, and the interior is spacious and open, creating a free and comfortable reading environment. Students and community members can read with ease while enjoying soft background music, providing an immersive reading experience.

Wuchi Elementary School in Taichung, located near Taichung Port, integrates maritime elements into its reading station. The design features a blue color scheme, a ship-shaped service counter, and a cargo ship-themed entrance, reflecting the harbor landscape. The reading area for lower-grade students includes bubble-floating soft cushions and a flying whale installation, attracting children to explore and enhancing their reading experience.
