In coordination with the opening of Danjiang Bridge, the New Taipei City Transportation Department has planned 4 new bus routes for trial operation from May 13 to June 10. People can reserve low-cost trial rides through the Tiaowa Bus platform, with each trip costing NT$5. The 4 routes are 988 Banqiao Express, 989 Airport Express, 990 Airport Express and 115 Tamsui-Bali Sightseeing Bus.
The trial operation uses a reservation system to test the new routes, including arrival times at stops, stop arrangements, transfer connections and passenger flow. Trial rides will also help the department understand route use at different times before official operation.
The 4 routes have different schedules and service types. Before making a reservation, passengers should confirm the date, departure and arrival points, and seat availability. Routes 988, 989 and 990 each allow 34 reservations per trip, while route 115 allows 18. Reservations must be completed before 10:30 p.m. on the day before departure.
After completing an online reservation, passengers can board by showing the ticket screen in the app. Details on schedules, reservations and notes are available on the Tiaowa Bus platform. During the trial period, the department will also collect passenger feedback through online and paper surveys as a reference for service adjustments before official operation.
