The COVID-19 cluster uncovered at the Taoyuan International Airport continues to grow. Taoyuan City Government strives to strengthen border control and protect people in Taiwan during the busy Lunar New Year travel period.

Cheng Wen-tsan (鄭文燦), the Mayor of Taoyuan City, announced that regulations of the sports, competition, and swimming, etc. in Taoyuan City must be stricter. In addition, a vaccination site has been set up at Taoyuan Railway Station, with multi-language interpreters serving on-site to assist foreigners in getting vaccinated and learning about the pandemic.

To stop the potential spread of the highly contagious variant within the community, ancillary facilities of swimming pools such as SPA and children’s play areas are temporarily closed. Besides, all participants of sports competitions must wear masks except special cases. The ongoing basketball games of the SBL and T1 leagues are also not open to spectators.

At the same time, after the daily meeting, the secretariat will publish the important measures and footprint information in multiple languages on Facebook. The information will also be published in the multilingual epidemic prevention section of the official website of the Secretariat. Foreign nationals are welcome to obtain the latest information on both platforms.

Cheng Wen-tsan encourages foreigners residing in Taiwan to get vaccinated as soon as possible by making an appointment with ROC (Taiwan) Resident Certificate.
