As the firefly season reaches its peak, the Nangang District Office in Taipei City will launch a nighttime firefly viewing event on April 24 at Nangang Tea Mountain. The program combines ecological guided tours and family experiences, offering the public a chance to connect with nature within the city. Participants will be guided along trails and surrounding areas to observe fireflies glowing in the night.

The event will take place at the Tea Manufacturing Demonstration Site, running from the afternoon into the evening. Guides will introduce firefly habits, habitat conditions, and their sensitivity to environmental quality. Through on-site observation and explanations, participants can gain a clearer understanding of ecology, while families enjoy meaningful outdoor interaction.

In addition to firefly viewing, the program includes environmental tours and hands-on experiences related to the tea mountain area. Nangang Tea Mountain is an important production area for Pouchong tea, where natural and cultural environments coexist. The presence of fireflies is seen as an indicator of ecological stability, giving the event both visual appeal and educational value.

The event is open to families and the general public, including new resident families. Through shared experiences, participants can build closer connections with the local environment and with one another. Registration is required in advance due to limited capacity. More information is available through official channels. The activity offers children a chance to learn about nature while families enjoy a slower-paced moment together.
