The “320+1 Chiayi City Urban Expo” will take place from December 12 to December 28 across Chiayi City. Through curated exhibitions and city-wide activities, the event connects culture, daily life, and creativity, inviting the public to rediscover Chiayi by walking, observing, and participating.
This year’s Urban Expo is structured around three core themes: “Shared City,” “Livable City,” and “Modern City,” each presenting a different perspective of Chiayi. The “Shared City” zone uses public spaces around the city government as exhibition venues, featuring sustainability concepts, outdoor performances, and markets to highlight the idea that cities are co-created by citizens, turning everyday spaces into platforms for storytelling.
The “Livable City” zone focuses on lifestyle and cultural memory, combining artistic creation, historical narratives, and XR technology to portray Chiayi’s unique character between nature and humanities. Through exhibitions on aesthetics, local history, and cultural imagination, it presents the city’s warm and layered daily life.
The “Modern City” zone showcases Chiayi from a contemporary and youth-oriented viewpoint through music, design, visual media, and student works. The exhibitions are also integrated with the annual Chiayi City International Band Festival, reinforcing Chiayi’s identity as a city of wind music.
The city government noted that the Urban Expo is not merely an exhibition but a participatory urban engagement. Whether cultural enthusiasts, families, design fans, or urban explorers, visitors can all find their own perspectives within the expo and experience the stories and charm of Chiayi.
