Tainan's nighttime attractions now extend beyond its night markets. Eight heritage sites have received new lighting that reveals architectural details after dark. Nighttime walking tours and site-specific performances will begin in late August, giving visitors new ways to explore the historic capital.

The completed sites are the Former Tainan Prefectural Assembly, Former Tainan He Tong Building, Former Tainan Patriotic Women's Association, Sacrificial Rites Martial Temple, Tainan Grand Mazu Temple, Kaiji Wumiao Temple, Kaiji Lingyo Temple, and Guang'an Temple. Carefully arranged lighting highlights their facades, rooflines, structural features, and traces of history.

Beginning in late August, the "Light in Motion" nighttime walking tours will guide visitors through the architecture and stories of the heritage sites. The "Light on Site" talks will explore the relationship between lighting and architectural aesthetics, while the "Light Reappears" program will present performances created for selected historic venues.

The lighting upgrades are planned for 11 heritage sites in total. Work at Tainan Confucian Temple, Tainan Xingji Temple and Grand Guanyin Pavilion, and the National Museum of Taiwan Literature is expected to be completed by the end of this year. The expanded route will connect temples, historic buildings, and surrounding neighborhoods into a broader nighttime cultural corridor.

Detailed schedules and registration information for the late-August programs will be announced separately. Visitors planning an evening walk should check the opening rules of each site in advance, as the lighting improvements do not necessarily mean that every building will be open for nighttime entry.
