Dubai is renowned for its bold architectural projects, from the towering Burj Khalifa to The World, an archipelago of 300 man-made islands shaped like the globe. Now, a new development by Therme Group, "Therme Dubai – Islands in the Sky," is set to further transform the city's skyline.

Designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro (DS+R), the wellness resort will rise 100 meters (328 feet) in Zabeel Park, near the Royal Palace. It will feature suspended botanical gardens, cascading thermal and mineral pools, and cultural spaces, aiming to host 1.7 million visitors annually.

Therme Group CEO Robert Hanea describes Dubai as a city that prioritizes well-being, emphasizing the project's role in integrating nature, water, and culture to enhance urban living. The structure will resemble an "oasis in the sky," with stacked botanical gardens and thermal pools offering panoramic views of the Dubai skyline.Therme Dubai's pools will be filled with thermal and mineral waters. The resort will recycle 90% of its thermal pool water and meet 80% of its cooling needs through sustainable energy. Construction begins in 2026, with completion expected by 2028.

Therme Dubai is among several ambitious projects shaping Dubai’s future. The Burj Azizi, set to become the world’s second-tallest skyscraper at 725 meters (2,379 feet), will feature apartments, a luxury hotel, and a vertical mall. It will also house record-breaking attractions such as the highest hotel lobby, nightclub, and observation deck.

Meanwhile, Ciel Dubai Marina, the world’s tallest hotel at 365 meters (1,200 feet), is set to open this year with over 1,000 rooms across 82 floors. These projects solidify Dubai’s status as a global hub for innovation and luxury.
