As one of Taiwan's representative international tourist landmarks, Sun Moon Lake has long attracted visitors from home and abroad. In response to the growing demand for independent travel and short-duration trips, the Nantou County Government has guided operators to launch the “FunTOUR Tourist Bus” one-day package, now available on the “Nantou Hao Hao Wan” website, integrating transportation and sightseeing experiences into a single product and offering a clearer travel option for visitors without private vehicles.
The route departs from Taichung Gancheng Station and Taichung High Speed Rail Station, heading directly to Sun Moon Lake and Taomi Eco Village and nearby attractions, reducing transfer times and waiting. The full journey lasts about 10 hours with fixed departures, allowing travelers to arrange stop durations according to their own pace and creating a more focused travel flow.
The package includes the tourist bus service and a one-day lake loop bus pass, along with admission to Paper Dome, a full ticket to Nina Chocolate Dream Castle (including on-site vouchers and DIY vouchers), and a voucher for one original donut. Travelers may plan walking routes around the lake, water-based activities, or cable car rides based on their interests and adjust their itinerary accordingly.
Multilingual audio guide services are available on board, introducing the lake's geography and local stories, which passengers may activate as needed. The overall design targets car-free travelers, solo visitors, and families, integrating transport and tourism services to enhance convenience and travel efficiency.
