As spring blooms, Taipei's Shilin Residence Xinlanting Pavilion is hosting the "Amaryllis Exhibition" from April 26 to May 18, offering free admission to the public. It has become a top choice for flower viewing during the Labor Day and Mother's Day holidays. The exhibition features nearly 20 varieties of amaryllis, complemented by spring plantings such as coleus, calla lilies, ixora, and hydrangeas, creating a secret floral haven blending nature and art.The Shilin Residence Amaryllis Exhibition will open on April 26. Lan Shu-Fan, Director of Taipei City's Park and Street Lights Office, noted that the amaryllis, also known as hippeastrum, is a symbolic flower of the spring-summer transition, known for its upright posture and vibrant colors. The exhibition showcases diverse varieties in red, white, pink, bicolor, striped, and double-petaled forms, with standout cultivars like "Apollo," "Purple Butterfly," and "Snow Mountain" demonstrating an elegant floral charm.The "Purple Butterfly" amaryllis is an online favorite. The exhibition area features 14 themed flower displays, with amaryllis varieties as the design core, combined with diverse material planters and natural elements to present rich layers of floral artistry. Incorporating elements of Chinese garden design, the site uses water reflections, inverted amaryllis installations, and hanging ribbons to convey the imagery of life's extension and the rhythm of nature, offering a rich visual feast.

Wu Min-Ching, Director of the Horticulture Management Office, added that the exhibition also showcases 11 varieties of coleus, including "Dorothy," which won first place at the 2024 Taiwan Flower Variety Promotion Fair, and "Xi Fenghuang," which won a special color creativity award in a Japanese flower competition. These displays highlight Taiwan's breeding capabilities and infuse the venue with a tropical and artistic atmosphere.

The Shilin Residence Amaryllis Exhibition is open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Xinlanting Pavilion. It's about a 15-minute walk from Exit 2 of MRT Shilin Station. The organizers warmly invite everyone to visit and enjoy a beautiful afternoon amid the interplay of flowers and sunlight.
