The New Taipei City Government Department of Agriculture continues to promote the “Plant a Tree for the Earth - One Million People, One Million Trees” initiative, inviting the public to protect the environment through hands-on tree planting. From now until April 21, 2026, participants who complete tree planting, upload photos of their planted saplings to the official website to obtain a planting certificate, and share the post on social media will be eligible for monthly prize draws.
New Taipei City has joined forces with seven northern Taiwan cities and counties to advance this tree-planting program, encouraging public participation to transform sustainability concepts into tangible actions that continue to grow and give back to the land. Participants may apply for suitable saplings via the official website, with planting locations arranged by relevant units, or choose to plant on their own property.
To encourage broader participation, monthly prize draws are held during the campaign period. After completing tree planting, uploading photos to the “Tree Planting Diary,” obtaining a certificate, and sharing the post on social media with the designated hashtag and a tagged friend, participants may enter the draw. Prizes include gaming consoles, vacuum cleaners, smartwatches, hotel accommodation vouchers, New Taipei currency, and various gifts.
The Department of Agriculture noted that the year-end and New Year period is an ideal time for reflection and renewal, and hopes that tree planting will inspire the public to plant long-lasting blessings for both the city and the environment.
