  Tainan AI health checks upgraded: one X-ray helps track osteoporosis and cardiovascular risks

  Tainan City has continued to promote smart health services in recent years by bringing AI technology into its existing "Mobile Hospital, Health Check for All" program, improving the accuracy and immediacy of community screening. Through assisted image analysis, chest X-rays originally used for lung checks can now also provide bone health risk assessment, and cardiothoracic ratio analysis has been added as a reference for cardiovascular risk. The results are still interpreted by physicians, who provide follow-up advice to strengthen overall health management.For digital integration, the city government has built the "Health Co-Care Cloud" platform. After completing health checks, people can use mobile phones to view reports, including bone health and cardiovascular risk information, as well as health advice. If the system finds higher risk, it also provides medical visit information to support follow-up tracking and evaluation.For areas with fewer medical resources, Tainan also promotes AI mobile fundus image services to help primary care providers conduct examinations. The service is linked with the platform for follow-up reminders, improving chronic disease management.In addition, an information system integrating emergency department capacity can show real-time emergency conditions at hospitals and serve as a reference for ambulance service and patient diversion. Tainan City said it will continue combining AI with medical resources to improve health care services.

  Taichung marine tourism season opens this weekend, Spring frenzy for Mazu heads to Tiezhen Mountain

  The first event of the Taichung marine tourism season opens this weekend at Dajia Tiezhen Mountain Scenic Area, linking the May 9 birthday of Mazu with the May 10 Mother's Day period. "2026 Tieshan music festival - Spring frenzy for Mazu" will be held at Tiezhen Mountain Sculpture Park Plaza, with free admission, band performances, student club stages and an African drum interactive area.The two-day event has different programs by time and theme. On May 9, performances will run from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m., focusing on music for Mazu's birthday. On May 10, programs will run from 12 noon to 6 p.m., shifting to nostalgic songs and local club performances. Visitors can choose sessions according to their schedules.The lineup includes bands, singer-songwriters and street dance groups, with an African drum interactive area. Performers include P!SCO and Wu Haozhe. On Sunday, Dajia Senior High School, Guoyuan guitar club and popular music club will also perform. Around Tiezhen Mountain, Jianjing Well, Guoxing Temple and walking paths can be combined with the music festival for a half-day trip.This event marks the opening program of the 2026 Taichung marine tourism season. Later coastal activities will continue until October, including the "Langhua Cup" beach volleyball tournament at the south area of Da'an Coastal Park in July, the Wuqi coastal festival in August, and drum performances, Mazu cultural theater, the High coast festival and related programs at Da'an Port Mazu Culture Park on October 3 and 4.   Parent-child event opens in Guiren, Tainan City, with 8 mascots appearing in turns

  Ahead of Mother's Day weekend, the "2026 Bring Children to Stroll Together" parent-child event will be held at Guiren Sports Park in Tainan on May 9. The site will feature 4 large character inflatables, interaction with 8 mascots, inflatable games, street performances, checkpoint games, DIY sessions, and a market. The main venue is Guiren Sports Park, and families can plan a half-day visit based on the activities.Mascot interaction is one of the main parts of the event. The 4 large inflatables include Mr. Fish Head, Caiqi Duck, Kabi Pangla, and Alley Niau, while 8 mascots will appear in turns for photos and interaction. The children's play area will have fairytale-themed inflatable facilities, along with 4 groups of street performers, including interactive story singing and dancing, a bubble show, and clown balloon and magic performances.Visitors can collect a checkpoint stamp card at the service counter. After completing 4 tasks, they can exchange it for 1 Tainan limited-edition mascot sticker. DIY sessions include mascot badges, moss-ball plants, and earth doodling. Advance registration is open, and quotas and session times follow the activity page. From May 8 to 9, visitors with receipts from Guiren shops can exchange them for a small gift at the service counter while supplies last.The event is held one day before Mother's Day. A limited number of 100 anthuriums from the Qijia Flower Area in Guiren will be distributed on site to attending families. The actual distribution method will follow on-site announcements.In addition to the main venue event, nearby tours include the "Cycle Around" light bicycle trip and the May 9 "Double-decker Bus City Treasure Hunt Unboxing Go!" fruit season route. The bicycle trip links attractions around Guiren and Guanmiao, while the bus route includes Xinhua Fruit and Vegetable Market and production-area visits.
