The Yilan International Children's Folklore and Folkgame Festival will transform its venue into a large play forest this year. Under the theme "Into the Enchanted Forest", the 2026 festival combines folk games, art, and nature to create an immersive experience. The event will take place from July 4 to August 16 at the Dongshan River Water Park, inviting families to enjoy a summer adventure.

This year's festival uses a forest theme throughout the venue, featuring water activities, interactive exhibitions, and performances. The program is designed for families and visitors of all ages to experience the charm of the festival through play and interaction.

The venue will include various water and land-based attractions, such as themed water play areas, challenge activities, and adventure facilities. These attractions are designed around the forest concept to provide immersive experiences for visitors.

Exhibition spaces will combine art and interactive experiences. "Forest Fantasy" is inspired by Taipingshan in Yilan and incorporates XR technology with artistic elements. Another area, "Forest Party", is designed for children aged 0 to 6, combining nature conservation themes with picture-book learning.

More than 20 international folk music and dance groups will participate this year, along with international performance teams and parade activities. Through games, art exhibitions, and cultural performances, the festival continues to be one of Yilan's major summer tourism events.
