In recent years, new immigrant language education has continued to develop toward deeper teaching practice and wider technology use. Along with course promotion and teacher training in different cities and counties, the integration of digital tools and teaching materials has become increasingly important. For schools and teachers, balancing language learning, cultural understanding and teaching efficiency has become a key issue in promoting these courses.
To create steadier teaching support across regions, local governments have gradually set up guidance groups for new immigrant language education. Through school visits, teaching demonstrations, training courses and professional exchanges, these groups help teaching support teachers improve course design, class management and student guidance, while also strengthening AI use and digital teaching skills. In 2025, related subsidies for local governments reached NT$8,165,100, continuing support for course development and research on teaching materials and methods.
This year's national annual meeting of new immigrant language education guidance groups was held under the theme of "new language ability, technological ability and influence." It attracted more than 300 guidance group members and representatives from related units across Taiwan. The agenda included keynote sharing, experience exchange, achievement displays and cross-county dialogue, focusing on development trends and classroom practice, while strengthening overall implementation capacity through sharing on systems, course promotion and teaching support.
In addition to the annual meeting exchanges, the venue also featured an exhibition area showing the practical results achieved by different cities and counties in course structure, innovative teaching design, teaching material development, digital resource use and students' multilingual learning. As teaching models, teaching resources and support systems continue to grow, the focus of new immigrant language education is gradually shifting from simply offering classes to improving teaching quality and learning outcomes.
