In response to rapidly advancing technology and evolving industry demands, the Central Taiwan Branch of the Workforce Development Agency under the Ministry of Labor has actively planned vocational training programs. In 2024, nearly 4,000 skilled professionals were trained across six major job categories and almost 40 professions. Looking ahead to 2025, more than 100 on-the-job training courses will be introduced, focusing on areas such as smart machinery, green energy technology, and big data analytics, to help workers enhance their competitiveness in the job market.

The branch noted that in 2024, the most popular courses were centered on smart machinery and essential skills for daily life, including multi-axis machining, robotic arm applications, 3D printing, indoor wiring, and air conditioning maintenance. Among these, the "Basic Industrial IoT Applications for Smart Manufacturing" course taught students to use C# programming language, industrial communication protocols, and databases for data integration, aiding the smart transformation of industries. The course received a satisfaction rate of 96.07%, with participants reporting significant improvements in workplace application through hands-on technical training.3Students from the "3DSolidWorks and 3D Printing Class" Happily Showcase Their Projects (Photo/Source: Central Taiwan Branch of Workforce Development Agency)

Looking forward to 2025, the branch will introduce 48 additional courses related to smart machinery, including the "FANUC Robotic Arm Programming and Application Class" and the "CNC Lathe Smart Automation Manufacturing Class," further promoting industrial automation. Additionally, in line with the trend toward net-zero emissions, the branch has planned electric vehicle training courses, establishing the nation's only public electric vehicle training facility. Courses such as the "Electric Vehicle Technology Class" and "Electric Motorcycle Maintenance Techniques" will help technicians master key maintenance skills and seize market opportunities.

To meet the learning needs of working laborers, the courses will be conducted in small classes, integrating practical training and scheduling sessions during evenings or weekends. Experts from industry, government, and academia will be invited to ensure participants acquire the latest technical knowledge. The 2025 courses have been progressively announced. Workers interested in improving their skills are encouraged to visit the Taiwan Employment Pass On-the-Job Training Network (https://ojt.wda.gov.tw/) or call 04-23592181 ext. 1541 or 1542 for inquiries and to seize new opportunities in the workplace.
