Adapting to Space Crewmember Scott "Kidd" Poteet noted early vision deterioration, hinting at Spaceflight Associated Neuro-Ocular Syndrome (SANS), a common condition caused by fluid shifts in microgravity. Meanwhile, engineer Anna Menon battled space adaptation syndrome, experiencing nausea and disorientation. Health-Focused Experiments The mission featured 36 experiments, including innovative "cyborg" contact lenses to monitor eye pressure and MRI scans to observe brain anatomy changes before and after flight.
