On July 16, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 32 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 32 new cases, 29 are domestic and the other three are imported. The CECC also announced 4 deaths today.

The CECC pointed out that of the 29 domestic cases, 17 are men and the other 12 are women, aged between under 5 to 69 years old.
Regarding those domestic cases, Taipei City reported the most cases, at 14, and New Taipei City had the second-highest number, at 11; Taoyuan City reported 2 cases, and Yilan County and Changhua County reported 1 case each.

Regarding the 4 deaths announced today, they all were men between 60 and 99 years old.
Regarding the 3 imported cases, Case #15468 is an American male in his 50s. He traveled to Taiwan from the US for work on July 2. Case #15472 is a Taiwanese girl under the age of 10. She returned to Taiwan from the US on July 2. Case #15480 is an over 30-year-old male fisherman from the Philippines. He arrived in Taiwan from the Philippines on April 30.

The CECC reported that a total of 1,727,787 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 1,710,974. Of the 15,378 confirmed cases, 1,221 are imported; 14,104 are domestic. There have been a cumulative total of 763 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 763 deaths, 755 are from domestic cases and the other 8 are from imported cases.
The CECC reminds the public to pay attention to personal hygiene, to reducing unnecessary outings, and to avoid crowded areas especially high-risk areas. Cooperating and following these epidemic prevention guidelines will keep everyone safe.
