Burt, the iconic saltwater crocodile who became famous for his brief role in the 1986 movie Crocodile Dundee, has passed away at the age of 90, according to the Crocosaurus Cove aquarium in Darwin, Australia.
Measuring over 5 meters (16 feet) in length, Burt was captured in the 1980s and became a global symbol of the power and majesty of crocodiles. In Crocodile Dundee, Burt is briefly seen lunging out of the water in a pivotal scene. Despite his cameo, he became one of the most well-known crocodiles in the world.
Since 2008, Burt had been residing at Crocosaurus Cove, where the park plans to honor his legacy with a commemorative sign celebrating his extraordinary life and the many visitors he captivated over the years.
