Kaohsiung City Government's Tourism Bureau has promoted the “2025 Cijin Green Dining Plate Project.” After more than three months of selection and professional evaluation, a results presentation was recently held to recognize 11 selected local businesses, showcasing the diverse outcomes of combining Cijin's local cuisine with sustainability concepts. The selected businesses include Duck Corner Seafood, Lai Wun Dao Japanese Cuisine, Pa-Tang Food Lab, Islanders Bakery, Boat Talk, Big Bowl Shaved Ice Desserts, Youjian Ice Shop, Douliu Ice City No.2, Sea Star Beach Club, Cijin Dao Beach Hotel, and Cijin Beach Bar.

Tourism Bureau Director Kao Min-Lin stated that the project is centered on the concept of “farm-to-table.” Professional chefs and advisory teams were invited to provide guidance, helping businesses develop 14 creative new dishes using Cijin's local seafood and black sand imagery. Multilingual menus in English, Japanese, Korean, and Indonesian were also introduced to reduce language barriers and enhance the dining experience for international visitors.
The bureau noted that the project aligns with the city's “Harbor Bay Gateway · Cijin Leading” development plan, using green dining to connect tourism experiences and transform sustainability concepts into tangible local flavors. Visitors are also encouraged to bring their own eco-friendly tableware when dining at selected restaurants to support sustainable tourism in Cijin.
