This year's Lunar New Year holiday lasts for nine days. Across Taiwan, 88 national highway bus routes are offering a 40% discount on ticket prices. Among them, Kuo-Kuang Bus has launched 30 discounted routes, covering popular destinations such as Yilan and Miaoli. Kuo-Kuang Bus stated that the initiative encourages the public to travel by bus to Jiaoxi in Yilan for hot spring visits and to plan light trips or Lunar New Year outings.

This year's Lunar New Year holiday runs from February 14 to February 22, totaling nine days. To ease road congestion during the holiday period, in addition to additional services by Taiwan High Speed Rail and Taiwan Railways, national highway buses are operating an average of about 6,500 to 7,000 trips per day as part of traffic management measures. The Directorate General of Highways under the Ministry of Transportation and Communications has also introduced a 40% fare discount on 88 national highway bus routes, along with transfer discounts. When combined with the TPASS 2.0+ and medium- and long-distance bus discount programs, fares for national highway buses during the Lunar New Year holiday can be reduced to as low as 42% of the original price.

In line with the Directorate General of Highways' Lunar New Year traffic management policy, Kuo-Kuang Bus said in a press release that 30 medium- and long-distance routes, including National Highway No. 5 routes, are offering an average 40% discount on full fares. The discounted routes cover popular areas such as Yilan (Jiaoxi, Toucheng, Su'ao, Yilan City, Luodong, Nanfang'ao, and Wushi Harbor), as well as Miaoli, Taichung, and Chiayi.

Kuo-Kuang Bus noted that Jiaoxi is renowned as a “hot spring town,” with high-quality sodium bicarbonate hot spring water that is clear and gentle, making it one of the most popular soaking destinations during winter and the Lunar New Year period. Travelers taking Kuo-Kuang Bus from Taipei can easily walk to the hot spring street, Tangweigou Hot Spring Park, and a variety of hot spring bathhouses and hotels upon arrival.

In addition to hot spring bathing, Kuo-Kuang Bus added that visitors can also explore the Wufengchi Waterfall, forest trails, and Jiaoxi's local food districts, making it suitable for one-day light trips, couples' outings, or family Lunar New Year excursions.
