The 2024 Luoshanfeng Art Festival is themed "People at the Seaside" and invites 19 art teams from Taiwan, Japan, Indonesia, and the United States to launch 26 groups of works. From Haikou Port, Kanhai Art Museum to Haikou Village, 5 major exhibition areas will be created. The exhibition will run from December 20, 2024 to March 2, 2025.
The strong downwind in winter brings special scenery to Pingtung City, and also blows up the resilience and courage of Haikou people in facing nature. This year's Luoshanfeng Art Festival is themed "People at the Seaside", presenting the village's "flexible" philosophy of life, while leading people to discover that life and art coexist here.
The 2024 Luoshanfeng Art Festival invites artists from all over the world to draw inspiration from the life, food, and environment of Haikou villages to create artistic creations that resonate with this land; at the same time, residents and tourists are also invited to participate in this life experience and journey. Whether on the beach, in the art gallery, in the village alleys, or even stepping into the hotel space, they will be able to experience the life attitude of Haikou villages, the Luoshanfeng, and the sea, and immerse themselves in the leisurely artistic scene.
Highlights of the 5 exhibition areas
Kanhai Art Museum: "The Sea Surge" creates two immersive light and shadow themes
"The Sea Surge" is an immersive audio-visual experience that takes the audience through a scene of wind, sand and huge waves. The exhibition is divided into two chapters. The first chapter uses strong winds to blow up fine sand, showing the baptism and power of nature; the second chapter turns to the boundless depths of the ocean, with whales leaping, flying fish flying, and huge waves surging, interpreting the symbiotic relationship between man and the sea through light, shadow and sound.
Beach Exhibition Area: 10 outdoor art installations
This exhibition area invites artists from all over the world to use their unique perspectives to express their infinite imagination and deep emotions for the ocean through a variety of media and forms, creating 10 unique art installations, transforming the seaside into a poetic art palace, which complement each other on the Haikou seaside in the season of falling mountain winds.
Street exhibition area: "Haikou 50-person container exhibition" brings together 4 groups of street art installations
The exhibition, curated by Japanese illustrator Yusuke Yamauchi, captures the smiles of 50 Haikou villagers and presents the simple human feelings and life stories of this fishing village through container displays, the coffee shop FACE SHOP Cafe and giant sculptures. Behind every smile is a touching life story, allowing the audience to feel the unique cultural charm of Haikou.

Village Exhibition Area: 4 art installations in the "Reaction Positioning Exhibition"
Capture the intertwining moments of memory and the present in the ruins of an abandoned fishing village. Artists such as Kakufumihira and Ichikawa Hoshi use sound and light installations and images to make every wall, floor and window of the ruins part of their work. Here, time seems to have stopped, voices from the past reappear, and the ruins become a stage where memories and emotions intersect.
Two major art hotels: Kenting Long Beach Leisure Hotel and Hayata Hongchai. 6 art rooms created
The two major art hotels are based on the concept of "integrating art into life" and transform each room into a private art gallery. From Qingshan Meng's "The Story of Princess Ba Leng: The Hundred-Step Snake and the Chief's Daughter" to Baqi Lanci's "The Blue Forest", travelers can not only appreciate art but also immerse themselves in it, turning every stop into a profound cultural experience.
