According to CECC, on June 3, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 366 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 366 new cases, 364 are indigenous and the other two are imported. Furthermore, the CECC reported 219 retroactively added cases; a total of 585 cases were recorded. The CECC also announced 17 deaths today.
The CECC pointed out that of the 364 indigenous cases, 186 are men and the other 178 are women ranging in ages from under 5 to 99 years old. They began to suffer the onset of symptoms between April 28 and June 2, 2021. Of the 219 retroactively added cases, 120 are men and the other 99 are women ranging in ages from under 5 to 89 years old. They suffered the onset of symptoms between May 13 and May 31.

The CECC pointed out that a total of 583 indigenous cases, including 364 newly confirmed cases and 219 retroactively added cases, were reported today. Regarding those indigenous cases, New Taipei City reported most cases, at 265, and Taipei City had the second highest number, at 224. Miaoli County reported 34; Taoyuan City reported 30 cases; Changhua County reported 15; Taichung City reported 5; Keelung City reported 4; Tainan City reported 2 each; Hsinchu City, Hualien County, Yilan County and Kaohsiung City reported 1 each.
Regarding the 17 deaths announced today, they were 13 men and four women between 40 and 99 years old.
Regarding the two new imported cases, Case #9567 is an over 20-year-old male from Indonesia. He traveled to Taiwan from Indonesia on May 5. He tested negative after taking a self-paid COVID-19 test. He later took another self-paid test on June 1 due to work requirements, and infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the case on June 3.

Case #9883 is an over 20-year-old male from Vietnam. He traveled to Taiwan for work on May 18. He underwent a self-paid test arranged by the company he worked for on June 2. Infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the case on June 3.
The CECC reported that a total of 578,935 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 556,055. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 9,974 cases. Of the 9,974 confirmed cases, 1,143 are imported; 8,778 are indigenous; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 2 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has unknown sources of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated; and 24 cases have been removed from the list of confirmed cases. Of the confirmed cases, there have been 166 deaths.
