The National Immigration Agency NIA (Keelung City Service Center)  and Keelung City Specialized Operation Brigades staff visited Badouzi (八斗子), Chen-Pin Fishing Harbor (正濱漁港), and other places to promote the "Carefree Covid-19 Screening Program" to migrant fishermen. These workers come from Indonesia, Vietnam, and Filipinos returning from Hong Kong.

The "Carefree Covid-19 Screening Program" includes migrant workers, legal and illegal. Those who experience any symptoms of the COVID-19 virus must seek screening tests immediately. The project will not charge any costs, question, investigate, or punish migrant workers. All expenses will be waived.

The NIA announced up-to-date epidemic prevention information and multilingual brochures in spreading awareness among migrant fishermen to ensure their safety.

The NIA staff also visited the Keelung Marine Laborer's Union, and INDEX promoting epidemic prevention information. They reminded the migrant workers to avoid unnecessary outings and gatherings and to observe social distancing in public spaces.

An Indonesian caretaker, Hsiao Ts'ui (小翠) told the NIA staff she came to take care of elderly and she has a Facebook group dedicated to migrant workers. She stated that she shares relevant information regarding safety against the COVID-19 virus, and the "Carefree Covid-19 Screening Program" in support of migrant workers. She is very thankful for the support and visit from the NIA staff.

Director of the NIA Keelung City Service Center Mao Chao-li (毛兆莉) stated that they are working closely with the Keelung City Specialized Operation Brigades in promoting the "Carefree Covid-19 Screening Program". They also provide multilingual QR Codes and brochures.
