During the Lunar New Year holiday, the National Health Insurance Administration (NHIA) reminds citizens that if medical care is needed, they can download the "National Health Insurance Express|Health Passbook" APP on their mobile phones to quickly search for service hours of contracted NHI medical institutions and pharmacies across Taiwan, ensuring timely medical assistance.

NHIA points out that citizens can also visit the NHIA Global Information Network and follow the path "Homepage/NHI Services/NHI Medical Services/Institution Inquiry/Service Hour Inquiry" to access information on the service hours of contracted medical institutions and pharmacies during the holiday. Additionally, mobile users can use the "National Health Insurance Express|Health Passbook" APP (available for iOS and Android systems). By utilizing the "Medical Inquiry" feature and entering keywords, users can search for nearby medical institutions or pharmacies. For specific service hours and conditions, the "Advanced Search" feature offers a quick and convenient solution.Mobile users can use the 'National Health Insurance Express|Health Passbook' APP to search for nearby medical institutions or pharmacies (Image/Source: National Health Insurance Administration website)

For those unable to use a mobile phone or computer, a 24-hour toll-free hotline at 0800-030-598 is available for inquiries.

NHIA advises that during the Lunar New Year, whether traveling or visiting family, individuals should pay attention to personal health and disease prevention measures. If feeling unwell, it is recommended to first visit a nearby clinic for evaluation by a physician before considering a referral to a hospital. This helps reduce emergency room congestion and improves medical efficiency.

NHIA emphasizes that through digital tools and hotline services, medical needs during the Lunar New Year can be more convenient. Citizens are encouraged to make good use of these resources to ensure health and peace of mind during the holiday.
