Caring for elderly family members at home often brings concerns about labor shortages and heavy caregiving pressure. Taoyuan has upgraded its LTC 3.0 policy by expanding both service items and eligibility, allowing people in need to access support at an earlier stage. Families that have already hired migrant caregivers are now also eligible to apply for community-based services, which has become a key feature of the updated policy.
Taoyuan currently provides a wide range of long-term care services, including home care, day care, transportation, and respite services. These resources are designed to meet different needs, offering practical options for those who require daytime assistance, temporary relief, or in-home support. This also helps reduce long-term caregiving burdens and allows more flexible care arrangements.
If family members require care due to aging, dementia, disability, or physical and mental conditions, residents can call the 1966 hotline or apply through the Taoyuan Long-Term Care Management Center. Professional staff will conduct in-home assessments, determine service levels and subsidy amounts based on individual needs, and assist in arranging appropriate care services.
In addition to care recipients, the pressure on caregivers has also gained increasing attention. This year, Taoyuan has integrated 10 family caregiver support service locations, providing training courses, support groups, psychological counseling, and individualized guidance. As society continues to age, early understanding and use of long-term care resources have become essential ways to ease caregiving pressure.
