Following severe rainfall, the Pingtung County Government has expanded its flood relief program. Households whose homes were flooded by less than 50 cm indoors, previously ineligible for assistance, may now apply for a one-time NT$10,000 relief payment.
Many homes suffered flood damage despite not meeting the existing disaster relief threshold. To ease the financial burden of cleanup and recovery, the county broadened eligibility to include more affected households.
The program provides NT$10,000 per household for residences with indoor flooding below 50 cm that have not received similar flood assistance from either the central or local government.
Eligible applicants must have been living in Pingtung County before the flooding occurred. Applications are generally accepted on a one-address, one-household basis, while separately registered households at the same address may apply individually if they occupy different residences.
Applications will be accepted through July 31. Qualified residents should submit the required documents for review. Those who have already received the same type of government assistance are not eligible to apply again.
