According to The Star, according to a flood prediction model produced by the Drainage and Irrigation Department (DID), certain locations in Kelantan and Terengganu are at risk of being flooded before the end of the year.
This comes as the Fire and Rescue Department says it has learned from the Selangor deluge and is prepared for any floods that may occur because of the forecasted persistent rain.

Several locations in both states are predicted to be flooded on December 30 and 31, according to DID's flood prediction model.
The flood warning was issued after the Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) issued a Significant Weather Forecast warning from Dec 25 to the end of the year, according to Bernama.

Between 8 p.m. on Dec 30 and 8 a.m. the next day, flooding in Gua Musang and Kuala Krai, as well as adjacent locations, was forecast in Kelantan, according to the DID.
This comes as water levels in Sungai Galas in Limau Kasturi and Dabong, as well as Sungai Kelantan in Kuala Krai, are predicted to surge above the danger mark.
Dungun and its environs were also included in the risk prediction, with the water level in Sungai Dungun in Kampung Pasir Raja rising above the danger mark.
DID urged the public to be on the lookout for flood warnings issued by the authorities on a regular basis.

Following MetMalaysia's forecast of monsoon rain and low-pressure weather in the South China Sea, National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma) director-general Datuk Dr Aminuddin Hassim said on Saturday that continuous rain was predicted in various parts of the country starting today.
"From December 27 to December 31, both occurrences have the potential to provide persistent rain on Sabah's east coast and Sarawak's west coast."
