Taiwan’s First! The National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium (NMMBA), under the Ministry of Education, has invested in creating the "Immersive Curved LED Studio," which officially opened on February 27 this year (114th year). This innovative attraction allows visitors to feel as if they are diving deep into the ocean, experiencing the grandeur and mystery of marine life.

The studio incorporates cutting-edge high-resolution imaging technology, comparable to the Hollywood film Oblivion, combining a curved panoramic screen with an overhead ceiling screen to deliver a breathtaking visual experience.

According to the Ministry of Education, this studio was built with support from the "National Social Education Institution Environmental Optimization and Service Advancement Project - New Hybrid Reality Underwater Museum." It surpasses traditional projection limits with high brightness, exceptional contrast, vivid colors, and clear visuals — even in well-lit environments, the intricate details of marine ecosystems are vividly displayed.

NMMBA has long been dedicated to marine exploration and ecological documentation. The immersive video content features precious footage such as coral spawning, sea snakes and turtles exploring, coral bleaching near Lanyu, and shipwreck adventures in Badai Bay, showcasing the rich diversity of the underwater world.First Close Encounter with a Sea Snake (Image/Source: Ministry of Education Website)

The NMMBA explained that this new exhibit space is located on the second floor of the Coral Kingdom Pavilion in the special exhibition area "South Blue Ties." Even those who can’t dive can embark on a mesmerizing journey through immersive visuals, experiencing the wonders from shallow waters to the mesopelagic zone, as if exploring the depths of the ocean. The museum also offers special photo opportunities for families, couples, friends, or solo adventurers to capture unforgettable moments in this "Ocean Grand Theater."
